Domenica al Lago...

Domenica passata al Lago Calamone (lago di origine glaciale sotto il monte Ventasso) con la famiglia, mentre i bimbi giocavano ho schizzato sul taccuino una parte del sentiero e il mini isolotto posto al centro del lago.
Il paesaggio è caratterizzato da faggete con esemplari secolari da favola!

Last Sunday at Lake Calamone (glacial lake below Mount Ventasso) with the family, while the children were playing I sketched on notebook part of the path and the mini island at the center of the lake.
The landscape is dominated by beech with secular examples fabulous!

BBC Wildlife artist of the year 2012 NON E' ANDATA..MA IO SONO STRAFELICE UGUALMENTE..già al lavoro per il prossimo anno!!!

I’m so sorry, this year, your artwork has not been awarded in the International Category.

However, you should be very proud to have got to the finals. This year, the standard was extremely high, we had more entries than ever before and the judges had a really tough time choosing the winners.

Bellissima e insperata notizia!!!!
Il mio pellicano riccio (unico disegno inviato) che credevo scartato da un concorso in realtà è stato selezionato!! 2 giorni fa è arrivata la splendida notizia!! Avevo interpretato il silenzio come una risposta negativa invece: my artwork has won through to the finals of the BBC Wildlife Artist of the Year 2012 Competition!! My  painting has been selected as a finalist in the International Artists Category!
Questo è per me un bellissimo sogno, a cui ancora stento a credere!!!


Beautiful and unexpected news!!
My Dalmatian pelican (single drawing sent) who believed discarded by a competition....it was actually selected!! 2 days ago came the wonderful news! I interpreted the silence as a negative response instead: my artwork has won through to the finals of the BBCWildlife Artist of the Year 2012 Competition! My painting has been selected as a finalist in the International ArtistsCategory!
This is my beautiful dream, which still hardly believe it!

passeggiando sui calanchi

Il 12 maggio pomeriggio sul campo con gli amici (e colleghi artisti) Roberto e Cristina che ci sono venuti a trovare, passeggiata tra i calanchi vicino casa con Ortolano in canto e Averla piccola, immersi nel profumo delle ginestre ci siamo fermati a disegnare in una piccola stazione di Orchidee fiorite, poco tempo per schizzare il panorama sul taccuino fabriano ad acquerelli e matite.


May 13: afternoon on the field with friends (and colleagues artists) Roberto and Cristina, walk through the badlands near home with Emberiza hortulana and Lanius collurio, smell of gorse and orchids in bloom, little time to sketch a view on my sketchbook Fabriano with watercolours and pencils.

Non mi sono ancora ripresa dal trasloco e soprattutto non ho ancora ADSL!! In attesa di essere più "presente" posto questo Pellicano riccio (Pelecanus crispus)  ritratto durante una visita al Parco faunistico Natura Viva, e dipinto in studio da una foto scattata da me,  tempera su cartoncino.
Inviato ad un concorso e ... scartato! Sarà per la prossima volta :))


I have not yet recovered from the move and above all do not have ADSL yet! Waiting to be more "present" here this Pelican (Pelecanus crispus) sketched during a visit to Wildlife Park NaturaViva, and painted in studio gouache on paper.
Sent to a competition and ... discarded! Maybe next time :))
